Today I was proud to celebrate Australia Day with both the Cities of Gosnells and Armadale. Todays celebrations combine acknowledging our countries ancient past, achievements and diversity as well as welcoming our newest citizens.

Australia Day is an opportunity to reflect on our national story; its a day for all Australians regardless of whether their families have been here for thousands of years or only became citizens today.

To those in both the City of Gosnells and the City of Armadale who became citizens today, I say welcome and congratulations for taking up residence in one of the best parts of the best country in the world.

I also congratulate all of those who received citizen of the year awards, Im so proud to be your Federal Member of Parliament and be able to promote and encourage the fantastic work you do both within this community and across the country.
