Burt Community Groups Urged to Put Hands up for Grants

02 August 2018

Im pleased to announce the opening of the next round of Burts Stronger Communities Grants.

These Grants of up to $20,000 are available to local community groups to improve their facilities and are a practical part of building a better Burt.

I invite all community organisations, big and small to consider applying for a grant to help with their priority projects.

Last year I was very happy to be able to secure Burt Stronger Community Grant funding for projects like improved lighting for the Gosnells City Football Club, kitchen upgrades for the Gosnells Mens Shed, kitchen and toilet renovation at the William Langford Community Centre, fences for the Piara Waters Oval and new uniforms for the Kelmscott-Pinjarra 10th Lighthorse Memorial Troop.

Community organisations can find out more about submitting an expression of interest on my website or by contacting my office before the end of August.

The 2018 Burt Stronger Communities Grants are now open.

The Stronger Communities Programme provides grants of between $2,500 and $20,000 for small capital projects that improve community participation and contribute to the vibrancy and viability of our community.

If you are part of a local community organisation operating in Burt please visit my website at www.mattkeogh.com/strongercommunities or contact my office on 9390 0180 or matt.keogh.mp@aph.gov.au for further information and how to apply.

To be eligible for funding an applicant must be a legal entity with an Australian Business Number (ABN), such as:

local government
incorporated not-for-profits; or
trustees acting on behalf of a property trust that are responsible for a community asset.

The project must be located in the Burt electorate and applicants must be able to demonstrate matched funding for the project, in cash or in-kind.

In the past applicants have successfully used crowdfunding campaigns to raise in-kind contributions for this program or had funding matched by local government.

Projects must be scheduled for completion by 30 June 2019.

Expressions of interest must be received prior to 5pm on Friday, 31 August
