KEOGH FUNDS FUN AT THE GOSNELLS TOY LIBRARY

Today I was proud to present the Gosnells Toy Library with a grant to purchase new toys to add to their collection for the community.

The $4,000 grant from the Burt Stronger communities program will ensure the Gosnells Toy Library is able to expand their toy range and improve their educational resources.

The electorate of Burt and Perths south eastern suburbs have a higher than average unemployment rate and are, as a result often in a tight financial situation.

That means items like toys and educational resources often go by the wayside in the weekly budget.

Through improving the offerings at the toy library children from our community wont miss out and will benefit from access to added educational toys and resources.

The Library is a fantastic community hub where mothers groups are educated with life skills and provided a supportive environment.

The toy library also prides itself on its environmental conservation with every toy or piece of equipment thats shared or passed on, thats one more item thats kept out of landfill.

I loved going to the local toy library as a kid and want to make sure many more kids in our community can share that joy now.

The Burt Stronger Communities Program provides grants of between $2,500 and $20,000 for small capital projects that improve community participation and contribute to the vibrancy and viability of our community.

Community groups interested in a grant in the future should contact my office.
