NBN - No Bloody Network

In 2013 Malcolm Turnbull promised that every Australian household would have the NBN by 2016. That deadline has come and gone and still many homes and businesses in Perth's south-east have been told they'll have to wait till 2020 to be connected to the network.

For those that have received it, the service has been highly unreliable and speeds far below those advertised. Under the Liberals the cost of the NBN has blown out by 22 billion, rollout has been delayed and homes and businesses are connected to fibre-to-the-node NBN - fraudband.

Let's send a message to Canberra that Perth's south east deserves better: we deserve a 21st century NBN and we deserve it now.

The Petition of the people of Burt, brings to the attention of the Government the poor NBN capability in Perth’s south-east, in particular the rollout of inferior copper-based fibre-to-the-node (FTTN) technology, to nearly 7 in 10 premises of the Burt electorate and calls on them to deliver at least fibre-to the curb technology to all remaining Burt residents and businesses as a matter of urgency.

The undersigned petitioners therefore ask the Federal Government to re-evaluate the roll out of the NBN to be sped up with improved technology across Perth’s south-east.
