HOWZAT! KEOGH THE GROUNDSMAN

26 March 2019

MATT KEOGH MP

FEDERAL MEMBER FOR BURT

Today I was proud to present the Gosnells Junior Cricket Club with a grant for the resurfacing of the cricket training nets at Sutherlands Park.

Ive secured the Cricket Club $5,000 from the Burt Stronger Communities program to install new carpet on the floor of the nets to give locals and club members alike the opportunity to refine their skills at the nets at Sutherlands Park.

These well-loved cricket nets have been very popular and their use over many years has resulted in the flooring lifting and becoming a tripping hazard, with many drawing stumps on the nets instead of risking a fall.

Fixing up the nets will not only contribute to the future success of our Aussie cricket team (because we all know they need it!) it will also encourage locals of all ages to get out and enjoy the great game.

The project is just another way were building a better Burt for everyone.

The Burt Stronger Communities Program provides grants of between $2,500 and $20,000 for small capital projects that improve community participation and contribute to the vibrancy and viability of our community.

Community groups interested in a grant in the future should contact my office.
