2021 Burt Volunteers Grant Programme

Expressions of interest for the 2021 Burt Volunteers Grant Programme are now open

The Volunteer Grants Programme supports community volunteer groups who benefit our local area. 

The program intends to encourage and support participation in local projects by helping volunteers advance local community participation in a wide range of beneficial programs. The grant aims to assist local groups with some of the costs associated with taking on volunteers, to encourage further recruitment and participation of members of the community.

Please note this round of grant funding looks a little different to previous years as it has a continued focus on Australia’s economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. For this special round grant funding will be up to 100 per cent of eligible project costs.

There is a total of $132,450 that can be allocated across successful applications of between $1,000 and $5,000.

Project eligibility

Your organisation must be staffed by 40% or more volunteers.

Your application must be for supplementary costs to support those volunteers.

Grants can be between $1,000 and $5,000 and can cover costs such as:

  • Equipment for volunteers.
  • Fuel costs for volunteers.
  • Transport costs for volunteers.
  • Fees for training courses.
  • Background check fees for volunteers.
  • Activities to promote awareness and increase volunteering opportunities.
  • Implementing COVID-Safe practises for volunteers.

The first stage of this grant process is expression of interest only.
