BETTER JOBS TRAINING IN BURT

31 January 2019

Matt Keogh MP, Federal Member for Burt

Today I was proud to present Centacare Employment and Training a grant to expand their education, employment and employability skills training programs at their training sites in Armadale and Gosnells.

Ive secured $13,898 for Centacare from the Burt Stronger Communities program to revamp their technological offering.

The electorate of Burt and Perths south eastern suburbs have a higher than average unemployment rate.

Computers are essential to the programs that are delivered at Centacare as many students have very limited technological experience and dont have computers at home.

Through funding new computers and software for their facilities in Armadale and Gosnells, Centacare will have the capacity to offer programs to more individuals from the wider community of Burt, therefore improving community participation, education and most importantly their employment prospects.

Expanding Centacares facilities is just another way were building a better Burt for everyone.

Centacare Employment and Training is a not-for-profit registered training organisation that offers programs, courses and support to members of the community who are looking to learn new skills and gain further qualifications.

The Burt Stronger Communities Program provides grants of between $2,500 and $20,000 for small capital projects that improve community participation and contribute to the vibrancy and viability of our community.

Community groups interested in a grant in the future should contact my office.
