FEDERAL LABOR TO INVEST IN HUNTINGDALE YOUTH ZONE

A Shorten Labor Government will provide $1 million for a new youth zone at Sutherland Park in Huntingdale.

This funding will go towards the planning and construction of an inclusive, flexible youth focused facility for the Huntingdale and Southern River area.

The Youth Plaza will consist of recreation features appropriate for all ages, including a skate park for teenagers and complementary nature play for younger children to enjoy.

The City of Gosnells will undertake a feasibility study with community members to assess what they would also like to see included in the facility.

Huntingdale and Southern River are both rapidly growing suburbs and as they continue to expand, residents should have access to the infrastructure they deserve.

A Shorten Labor Government will work alongside the McGowan Labor Government to further support Perths growing south eastern corridor.

This commitment joins Labors previous commitments of a new library in Harrisdale, $2 million towards cleaning up the Canning River and our $1.7 billion commitment to improving Perths major roads.
