Last Thursday I presented the Armadale-Kelmscott Lions Club with a cheque for $12,000 from the Burt Stronger Communities Program 2017-18 for a new community Santa Sleigh.

Our local Lions Club are incredibly active, assisting at so many community events and fundraising to support cancer research.

This injection of funds from the Burt Stronger Communities Program will help the Lions Club spread Christmas joy for many more years into the future.

The Burt Stronger Communities Program provides much needed funds to local government, community and sporting groups for community projects and infrastructure.

In total, 16 organisations will benefit from the nearly $150,000 of funds in the Burt Stronger Communities 2017-18.

I was glad to support the Lions Club and help them continue their great work through their Santa Sleigh and I look forward to seeing them out and about in the Armadale-Kelmscott community spreading Christmas joy.

I encourage others to apply for funds through the Burt Stronger Communities Program in 2018-19 so we can continue to build a better Burt.
