Night Games soon to be a reality

07 August 2018

Today I presented the Gosnells City Football Club with a cheque for $11,698 from the Burt Stronger Communities Program 2017 to upgrade the floodlighting on Padbury reserve.

The funds are matched by the City of Gosnells and allows for game quality lighting to be installed instead of just training quality.

The Club approached me earlier in the year for funds to upgrade their lighting to allow them to play night games, as well as longer training sessions.

Im delighted to have helped the Club reach their goals. I look forward to attending a night game next season and watching locals play the world game.

Quotes attributable to President Garry Nickisson:

The club has over 500 members; this floodlight grant will move the club forward but not only the club, but also the wider community.

I would like to thank the City of Gosnells for the initial funding and for allowing us to upgrade the lights. I would also like to thank all our sponsors, especially Smart Homes, Lakers Tavern and of course the funds from Matt Keogh MP through the Burt Stronger Communities Program to enable us to fully upgrade the floodlights.

Quote attributable to Vice President Ossie Pereira:

By hosting night games series we expect more children and families will come down and participate in local soccer and support our teams.
